Decorative Mirrors
I wanted to create abstract landscapes of different textures and colours using natural materials to show the shapes and forms found in nature and also the symmetry of our manmade influence within the landscape, above and below the ground. The trees extending beyond the boundaries of the frames draw the eye into the picture to create different levels of focus giving a sense of depth.
Landscape 1. 103cm wide x 43cm high (not including overhang). This piece is made from reclaimed/recycled materials collected from a wide variety of sources. It includes driftwood from local beaches, roof slates, slate pieces, found timber and glass/mirror, recycled copper sheet and iron.

Through the Woods. 51cm wide x 42cm high. Inspired by a Tolkien illustration called "Tumble Hill", this piece draws you down the path to the mirror sea. Made using reclaimed timber, driftwood and woodland branches. There are even real toadstools in the fore ground.
